I saw my first Elkhound when we returned from abroad in 1989 which was a Kestos dog bred by Barbara Stokes. I instantly fell in love with it and made enquiries and then purchased our first Elkhound later that year which we got from Fred Anderson in Scotland (Koriston Brynte). Since then we have had a total of 8 Elkhounds. Our most successful was Ch Barlestone Konan (Kalin) who won his first CC at Crufts in 2001. I enjoy exhibiting and used to handle for Brian and Vi Nichols.I completed and passed the Judges Training Scheme and also passed all the relevant Kennel Club requirements for judging. I completed my first judging appointment in 2000 and have judged up and down the UK to gain the experience of judging this wonderful breed. I judged t h e Club Open Show in 2009. I first awarded CCs at Windsor in 2014 and the Norwegian Elkhound Association of Scotland Championship Show in 2016.NORWEGIAN ELKHOUND BULLETIN(photo by Maggie Mott)Certificate (CC) & Best in Show was Treena Maun%u2019s male CH Bowerhinton Bassanio pictured rightCertificate (CC), Best Opposite Sex and Reserve Best in Show was Sally Simmonds%u2019 & Maggie Mott%u2019s AM CH Kamgaard Klementina (IMP USA) and is pictured on the left.Around the hall by Nigel Benner
