BULLETIN 6 %u00a92025 NARAENA MARCH 20252The Annual General Meeting Refreshments awaited members and exhibitors at the Weston Hall Hotel, Bulkington, near Coventry giving everyone time to settle in readiness for the meeting to begin. Attendance was good and the meeting began on time. Taking us through the agenda was our retiring Chairperson, Christine Gilbert. Our President, Jill Cowper, presented Christine with a flower arrangement with our thanks for all her hard work. Our new Chairman is Treena Maun. Andy Friend, co-opted as Treasurer after last year%u2019s meeting, was elected. Margaret Deuchar and Wendy Sharman were reelected. No nominations for committee had been received but there maybe some co-options to help swell the Committee to a full compliment. The agenda was followed and many interesting discussions ensued that will be reported in the minutes. Unfortunately, the Club%u2019s accounts could not be audited in time for the meeting and it will, therefore, be necessary to have a Special General Meeting in order to pass the completed accounts. The SGM will take place alongside our Championship Club Show on 6th April at Corley Village Hall. Details will follow from the Secretary. Towards the end of the meeting, two further presentations were made by Jill Cowper. These were to mark the retirement of Margaret Deuchar and her daughter, Debbie, who have been organising the Annual Contest for many years and felt the time has come to hang up their hats and let someone else takeover at the helm. Margaret and Debbie were delighted and a little overwhelmed by their flower arrangements. The Contest began after the AGM that ran-on a little longer than anticipated. The mystery judge was sitting in his car and Margaret was anxious for proceedings to get underway. This is quite usual and the Contest is halted at a suitable point in order for luncheon to be served. A buffet lunch was served consisting of Chicken or Vegetable Curry, rice, noodles and Bombay Potatoes (very tasty). There followed a fruit sponge and custard with tea or coffee to finish.
